Why are these people angry all the time?
Maybe an obvious clue as to the Afghan’s stubborn resistance and retaliation to our military efforts would possibly be that we’re occupying their country unconstitutionally, and killing their civilians by the scores. No wonder Afghans are having a hard time believing that NATO and the U.S. Military are there to protect them, and are rejecting the “democracy” and freedom that’s being forced on them.
Of course, this latest airstrike doesn’t hold a candle to one that occurred in August ‘08 where 90 civilians, 60 of which were children, met their end.
Let’s just chalk it up to the cost of war. Apologies all around.
Coram Deo~
See, if the Russians did this, everyone would be outraged. But since Americans did it, we blather on about “collateral damage” and “unavoidable cost of war,” and rationalize ourselves.
I honestly don’t think that region of the world will accept a western-style government. Ever. Not unless there is a radical change and rise in Christianity in the near future.
Ah, but see, our eschatology is impatient… we don’t have time to actually invest years of toil, sweat, and patience in evangelizing and changing that culture, and building churches over in the Middle-East; that might interfere with our plans for Israel and the End Times…
… never mind the fact that thousands of Iraqi Christians have had to flee the country after our military toppled Saddam Hussein’s presidency, which *did* provide some security for those Christians from other radical Islamic groups.
Hm, yes… actually, now that I think about it, I guess we should be pressing for even *more* wars in the Middle East… just to sorta help along the coming of Armageddon, right? After all, we’ll all be raptured outa here before then, so it’s all cool.
More seriously, it looks increasingly likely that the only way the U.S. will actually get out of its Middle East entanglement is by a devastating domestic economic collapse.
I agree… there’s not really a bright outlook for our economic future at the moment.
