How do people cope with war-wounds?

As I sit typing, my finger feels like it is going to fall off, after the plastic-wrap container attacked me and left me with a “deep” cut. It throbs. It screams. My band-aid is inhibiting my typing. The end.

Take a look at this link with video clips of unborn babies in the womb. Then deny that they are human.

When does life begin for a baby? Whenever it is most convenient for a woman to say so? How can they even determine that? Life begins at conception and is a miracle none of us will truly understand on this earth.

Looking at the evidence of abortion, before, during and after, we find that everything about it screams out that is is agains God’s will. The pain and the agony of a woman in labor brings forth life but those experienced during an abortion brings forth death.

Who can look at the the precious life that the Holy Spirit has kindled in the womb and say “this is not human”? Unfortunatly, millions can, but they know in their hearts the truth. I pray that they will fall down on their knees and beg forgiveness sinning against God and destroying part of His creation.

Remember, that the value of human life is only found in God’s word. If we don’t measure human lives by that then they are worthless. Please make a stand for what you know is truth today.

In Christ,
Grace

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Jeremiah 1:5

For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
Psalm 139:14-16

Careless Tonight

I’m feeling mighty careless right now. A dangerous feeling, many men have lost their lives feeling this way.

How can you be missing this? I’m all out of luck, this time around it is my fellow siblings that are going.

I knew that there was something wrong with American Girl… go Liberty! Thanks to Doug Phillips for the link to the story.

Sword canes are illegal to carry in California? That’s something I did not know until I ran accross it researching the 1850’s.

Some common etiquette tips:

Men always remove their hats when talking to a lady. A proper lady would never shake hands with a man. When a lady crosses the street she should gracefully raise her dress a little above the ankle. Gathering the folds of her dress toward her right side. To gather it on both sides would be vulgar. “To look steadily at any one, especially if you are a lady and are speaking to a gentleman; to turn the head frequently on one side and the other during conversation; to balance yourself upon your chair; to bend forward; to strike your hands upon your knees; to hold one of your knees between your hands locked together; to cross your legs; to extend your feet on the andirons; to admire yourself with complacency in a glass; to adjust, in an affected manner, your cravat, hair, dress, or handkerchief; to remain without gloves; to fold carefully your shawl, instead of throwing it with graceful negligence upon a table; to fret about a hat which you have just left off; to laugh immoderately; to place your hand upon the person with whom you are conversing; to take him by the buttons, the collar of his cloak, the cuffs, the waist, and so forth; to seize any person by the waist or arm, or to touch their person; to roll the eyes or to raise them with affectation; to take snuff from the box of your neighbor, or to offer it to strangers, especially to ladies; to play continually with your chain or fan; to beat time with the feet and hands; to whirl round a chair with your hand; to shake with your feet the chair of your neighbor; to rub your face or your hands; wink your eyes; shrug up your shoulders; stamp with your feet, and so forth; [P. 88] –all these bad habits, of which we cannot speak to people, are in the highest degree displeasing. “

Sometimes I could pinch myself for standing by and letting my friends’ good names be bashed. I distinctly remember once, about 4 years ago, calmly sitting and listening to someone accuse Pieter of several things he didn’t deserve. This is my curse, not knowing when to speak and speaking when I should not….

It’s been a few days since I’ve written anything about Katrina and the aftermath of that hurricane.

I have told a few people, but haven’t said anything here yet. California is going to be getting it’s fair share of refugees with a 1000 people coming from the South to the Bay Area, San Diego San Jose and Sacramento. Sacramento alone is going to be recieving 300 of these refugees. I had no idea that the federal government would be sending them this far west. I hope that there is some way my family and I can help them.

Infections from the sewage in New Orleans have already killed 4 people. Even thinking about how much junk was in the water that these people had to live in for days, gives me shudders.

Supposedly, Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to veto the bill for “same sex marriages.”

Finally, I find this of interest. Talking with my father, who is a computer programmer of 25 years, is really interesting, considering the fact that he remembers the days when computers used to fit into rooms. The very first computer he worked on was the size of a refrigerator; I must say that it is astounding how technology has advanced.

Lawful Sodomy?

Wednesday, September 7th, 2005

This is just going to be a short screaming from an angry little girl in the great and wonderful state of California. A girl who is soon to be working for a State Park. A girl who has to abide by California law.

Well, anything that goes against God’s law cannot be called law and therefore has no authority.

Is this what I’m going to let my children grow up with? Can I abide to stay in a state where God’s judgment is going to hit and hit hard? Unfortunately, this isn’t going to just stay peaceably in the State of California. This perverseness and lawlessnes is going to spread to all the states. What will it take to bring this nation to her knees in submission to God?

Thank you for letting me have my say.

Morning Times

Monday, September 5th, 2005

I can think of no better way to start out the day than sitting at the table drinking a cup of hot, fresh made coffee and reading four chapters of my bible. This morning I read:

1 Samuel 29 and 1 Samuel 30

1 Corinthians 10

Ezekiel 8

Psalm 46 and 47

I’m going to be extremely busy these next few months doing my Coloma class every week, a worldview class every week, book discussion, quilting classes every week, extra sewing for my Coloma costume every week, piano lessons every week, school daily, plus I still want to have a little time I can call my own in which I will read books and do blogging. On top of that I will still have to help Mother dearest with the children and cook and clean! Busy days ahead, starting now…

I think that if I can just get up early and read my bible and get a good start on the day, then things will go much smoothier for me. These morning times really help.

Normal Days

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

This morning I had the pleasure of waking up from a full nights sleep in a comfortable bed, inside the walls of a sturdy house, warm and safe. I was able to get on the internet, check various blogs, read opinions, news, stories and write a post for my own blog while sipping a coffee cup full of fresh brewed coffee. I took a long shower in warm, soft water, washing myself with soap, a ritual which I perform every morning. I fixed a filling breakfast of sausage, scrambled eggs and toast for myself and my father. The rest of the kids had cereal and orange juice. I slipped into a comfy skirt and shirt to face a new day. I did all these things that the people in New Orleans and the South are unable to do right now.

Instead, they sleep outside on cots, they wade through filthy, contaminated water; water that seeps through their pores, water that has floating corpses in it. They are lucky if they get a drink of fresh, clean, uncontaminated water. They wear the same wet clothes that they have had on for days. Chaos reigns with no general plan, no direction and no help. Raping and murdering are occuring with frightening rapidity. Many of National Gaurdsmen being sent to New Orleans are fresh from duty in Iraq!

The reports from Vision Forum are unbelievable.

So many of the things that I have accepted as the norm would be considered a heaven of relief for these people. They don’t even have any bathrooms… Does it really take something on such a huge scale as this to make me realize how greatly blessed I am?

Katrina Again

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

A shamrock to Mark for the links.

With so much need and so few resources, the weakest and frailest were bound to suffer the most. Seated next to her husband’s body on the neutral ground beneath the St. Joseph Street sign, Allie Harris munched on crackers, seemingly unaware of all the tragedy unfolding around her. Eventually, guardsmen loaded her into a truck and hauled her off with other elderly evacuees.

Mr. Harris’ body was left behind.

Go here to read more about the aftermath of Katrina.

Post mortems are usually conducted after the patient has died, and not to be done in the middle of ER attempts at saving the life.

This is absolutely crazy… read Doug Wilson’s short commentary on bad science and bad manners.

It used to be that tornados, hurricanes, floods, wild fires, and earthquakes were understood in two ways. First, the creation itself is fallen, and these disasters are a reflection of the fall. The created order goes through convulsions similar to the way disease hits each of us leading to old age and inevitable death (see Gen. 3:17–19).

It’s Not Nice To Fool With Mother Nature? Complete idiocy.

Again, a big thanks to Mark for linking to the stories.

Doug Phillips and Vision Forum are striving to help as much as they can in the relief efforts for those stuck in New Orleans with Mission Katrina. Many of the families in Texas will also be sacrificing their time and energy to house refugees. Pray that the Lord will help them on the way.

Dave Black has written an article entitled Shining In The Darkness. Those in New Orleans ought to feel completely helpless if they aren’t Christians. Yes, that is a strong statement. But if they were Christians, think how much greater their relief would be from their suffering right now. People have to trust in something during a catastrophe like this, and let’s pray that it isn’t the state but God.

Finally, go to Lora’s blog to read of her ministry efforts for the hundreds of refugees coming to Texas. Lora is Lindsay’s mother. May the Lord bless them in their efforts. Thanks to Dave Black for pointing Lora out.
